The majority of trees in North Star are Spruce and Fir, so the Pine beetle
problem is not in North Star. The forest in North Star considered to be very elderly though, which is why the fire mitigation so important. Do check your big tree though to make sure they are healthy and not going to fall on your house, car, or even your neighbors property.
